Gay Church Weddings Likely in Sweden by 2009, Says Prime Minister

While America grapples over granting even the most basic rites of marriage to same-sex couples, Sweden’s Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt has announced that gays and lesbians may be allowed to marry in the Lutheran Church as early as May 2009 should the Swedish parliament adopt legislation it is slated to take up shortly.
